This book is HOT HOT HOT!! First off, I love that the heroine in this book is "evil." From Sabine's perspective we get to see a side of the Lore that we have not gotten a chance to see yet. An insider's perspective from someone who considers themselves to be on the side of bad was really neat.

Sabine, Sorceress of Illusions, is seductive, strong, and totally wicked. Her character was a breath of fresh air. She was such a great match for the noble and honorable Rydstrom Woede. For all of his ideals, selflessness, and single-minded determination to get his kingdom back, he needed a woman like Sabine to show him what he really wanted out of a woman. Only she could look into his mind and show him what he didn't know he desired. (spoiler)The scene where she looks into his mind and displays in front of them both what he truly desires from her while they watch is one of the best in the book. The tension between the characters is not subtle and the obvious distrust and hatred only creates a greater challenge to be overcome. Therefore, creating a more passionate resolution between the characters.

Though I have to admit that I was a little disappointed in the last half of the book. The fist half was filled with tension, build up and a little release. I thought the last half would be absolutely explosive! It was definitely singe worthy, but not explosive. I was hoping the author would push the limits of with Rydstrom's bondage desires a little more. She walks the line, but never crosses it. I thought there was a possibility to create a some seriously HOT sex scenes that push some boundaries, but I felt like she played it safe. But, overall it was a fantastic read; super sexy and well written.

Oh and I can't wait for Lanthe's story. I think that is going to be a good one too!
